Summary:According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for estimating the state of charge of a battery may include: a measurement part for measuring a current flowing in a battery by charging or discharging the battery and measuring the temperature of the battery; a storage part for storing a plurality of current values and a plurality of capacitance values corresponding to a plurality of temperature values; and a calculation part which calculates the average current value of the current measured from the first point of time to the second point of time by the measurement part, selects a capacitance value corresponding to the average current value at the plurality of capacitance values and the temperature measured by the measurement part, and calculates the state of charge (SOC) corresponding to a value obtained by dividing a capacitance value selected at the integrated value of the current measured by the measurement part. It is possible to estimate the state of charge reflecting the load and temperature of the battery. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 배터리 잔존전하량 추정 장치는, 배터리를 충전 또는 방전시켜 배터리에 흐르는 전류를 측정하고 배터리의 온도를 측정하는 측정부와, 복수의 전류값과 복수의 온도값에 대응되는 복수의 용량값을 저장하는 저장부와, 측정부에 의해 제1 시점부터 제2 시점까지 측정된 전류의 평균 전류값을 계산하고 복수의 용량값에서 평균 전류값과 측정부에 의해 측정된 온도에 대응되는 용량값을 선택하고 측정부에 의해 측정된 전류의 적산값에서 선택된 용량값을 나눈 값에 대응되는 잔존전하량(State of Charge, SOC)을 계산하는 계산부를 포함할 수 있다.
