Summary:Disclosed is a composition for improving liver functions using a black radish extract. The composition is capable of preventing oxidative damage due to carbon tetrachloride by increasing activities of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) and lowering concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA), as an indicator for lipid peroxidation in an animal model in which liver damage is induced. In addition, the composition also inhibits production of Iba-1 which is an inflammation factor secreted by Kupffer cells, and also lowers blood concentration of ALP and ALT which are indicators of liver damage or liver dysfunction. 본 발명은 간 손상을 유발한 동물모델에서, 지질 과산화의 지표물질인 MDA(malondialdehyde)의 농도를 낮추고 SOD(superoxide dismutase), CAT(catalase) 등의 항산화 효소 활성을 증가시켜 사염화탄소에 의한 산화적 손상을 억제함과 함께, 쿠퍼세포(Kupffer cell) 등에 의하여 분비되는 염증인자인 Iba-1의 생성을 억제하고, 간 손상 또는 간 기능 장애의 지표물질인 ALP, ALT 등의 혈중 농도를 낮추는 활성을 가진 흑무 추출물을 이용한 간 기능 개선용 조성물을 개시한다.
