Summary:An air conditioner capable of being operated in an efficient refrigeration cycle while securing cooling performance in a low-temperature operation region and a control method thereof are disclosed. When an air flow guide device is installed in an outdoor unit to perform cooling operation under an outdoor low temperature condition, natural convection of air and heat exchange between a condenser and outdoor air by a blowing fan are suppressed, so a condenser pressure can be secured, and a normal refrigeration cycle can be formed. Moreover, by controlling the flow amount of outdoor air through blade control of the air flow guide device, the cooling performance in the low-temperature operation region can be secured. In addition, the air conditioner can be operated with the efficient refrigerator cycle, so the reliability of the compressor can be secured. 저온 운전 영역에서 냉방 성능을 확보하며 효율적인 냉동 사이클로 운전이 가능한 공기 조화기 및 그 제어 방법을 제안한다. 실외기에 기류 안내 장치를 설치하여 실외 저온 조건에서의 냉방 운전 시, 공기의 자연 대류와, 송풍팬에 의한 응축기와 실외 공기와의 열교환을 억제함으로써 응축기 압력을 확보하여 정상적인 냉동 사이클을 형성할 수 있다. 또한, 기류 안내 장치의 블레이드 제어를 통해 실외 공기의 유동량을 조절함으로써 저온 운전 영역 냉방 성능을 확보하며, 효율적인 냉동 사이클로 운전이 가능하여 압축기의 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있다.
