Summary: | The present invention relates to an electrode for a lithium secondary battery with improved rapid charge/discharge characteristics and stability, and a lithium secondary battery including the same. The lithium secondary battery comprises: a current collector; an electrode active material layer placed on at least one side of the current collector; and a carbon-based coating layer placed between the current collector and the electrode active material layer and formed of carbon-based slurry containing a carbon-based material, a first binder, and a thickener, wherein the content of the first binder is 35% to 70% by weight based on the carbon-based coating layer.
