The present invention relates to a food waste processing device using microorganisms, which is connected to a drain hole of a sink, for dissolving food waste into a liquid state by stirring the food waste with the microorganisms after the food waste is inserted. In a cover installed on an insertion hole in which the food waste is inserted, a cover opening/closing sensor is provided. When the cover is opened, the cover opening/closing sensor detects an operation of the cover and transmits a signal to a control portion installed in a main board. When the control portion receives the signal, stirring of the food waste and the microorganisms is stopped. The opening/closing sensor is attached to the cover to stop stirring when the cover is opened so that an injury due to insertion of a hand into the device can be prevented and the food waste and the microorganisms can be prevented from coming out. 본 발명은 싱크대의 배수구에 연결되어 음식물을 투입하면 음식물을 미생물과의 교반을 통해 분해하여 액체 상태로 배출하는 미생물을 이용한 음식물 처리장치에 있어서, 음식물이 투입되는 투입구에 설치된 커버에는 커버 개폐감지 센서가 구비되어 커버가 개방되면 이를 감지하여 메인보드에 설치된 제어부로 신호를 전송하고, 상기 제어부는 신호를 수신하면 음식물과 미생물의 교반을 중지시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 미생물을 이용한 음식물처리장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 커버에 개폐감지 센서를 부착해 커버가 개방되면 교반을 중지시켜 장치내부로 손을 집어 넣었을 때 부상 입는 것을 방지하고, 외부로 음식물 또는 미생물이 나오는 것을 방지할 수 있는 미생물을 이용한 음식물처리장치를 제공할 수 있다.
