The present invention provides a binding machine for gardening in which the machine hardly comes in contact with crops, and the machine is easily inserted between the crops. Specifically, the binding machine for gardening comprises: a main handle (11) which is capable of drawing out a tape (60) from a front end portion (11a) thereof; a clincher arm (30) which is rotatably attached to the main handle (11); a tape gripping apparatus (35) which is attached to a front end portion (30a) of the clincher arm (30), and is capable of gripping an end portion (60a) of the tape (60) drawn out from the front end portion (11a) of the main handle (11); and a bonding means which bonds end portions (60a) of an overlapped tape (60). In a case where the clincher arm (30) completely closed with respect to the main handle (11) is viewed from the side, when a bonding direction of the bonding means is defined as a longitudinal direction, and a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction is defined as a transverse direction, the tape gripping apparatus (35) is configured such that a width (H) in the longitudinal direction thereof is 1.5 times or less than a width (W) in the transverse direction thereof. <과제> 기계가 작물에 쉽게 닿지 않고, 작물의 사이에 기계를 삽입하기 쉬운 원예용 결속기를 제공한다. <해결 수단> 선단부(11a)로부터 테이프(60)를 인출 가능한 메인 핸들(11)과, 메인 핸들(11)에 대해 회동 가능하게 장착된 클린처 아암(30)과, 클린처 아암(30)의 선단부(30a)에 장착되어 메인 핸들(11)의 선단부(11a)로부터 인출된 테이프(60)의 단부(60a)를 파지 가능한 테이프 파지 장치(35)와, 겹쳐진 테이프(60)의 단부(60a)를 결착하는 결착 수단을 구비하고, 메인 핸들(11)에 대해 완전히 닫힌 상태가 된 클린처 아암(30)을 측면에서 본 경우에 있어서, 결착 수단의 결착 방향을 종방향, 종방향에 직교하는 방향을 횡방향으로 했을 때, 테이프 파지 장치(35)는 종방향의 폭(H)이 횡방향의 폭(W)의 1.5배 이하가 되도록 했다.
