If the longitudinal axis of a film is defined as an X axis, the widthwise axis of the film perpendicular to the X axis is defined as a Y axis, the thickness direction axis of the film perpendicular to the X axis and the Y axis is defined as a Z axis, and each axial refractive index is nx, ny, nz, the retardation film includes a liquid crystal layer having a material of nxny<nz, 2m (m is a positive integer) tilt +C plates of a laminated structure and a +A plate disposed on the 2m tilt +C plates.
