Summary:A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an electrode body (11) having a positive electrode (13), a negative electrode (17), and a separator (15) provided between the positive electrode (13) and the negative electrode (17). At least the separator (15) includes a non-aqueous electrolyte. In at least part of the separator (15), the amount of change in the thickness of the separator (15) at the time of restraint at 10 MPa is 50% or more. So, it is possible to prevent the safety degradation of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. 비수전해질 이차 전지는, 정극(13)과, 부극(17)과, 정극(13)과 부극(17) 사이에 설치된 세퍼레이터(15)를 갖는 전극체(11)를 구비한다. 적어도 세퍼레이터(15)에는 비수전해질이 보유 지지되어 있다. 세퍼레이터(15) 중 적어도 일부에서는, 10㎫에서의 구속 시에 있어서의 세퍼레이터(15)의 두께의 변화량이 50％ 이상이다.
