The present invention relates to a memory system supporting a one-shot program and an operating method thereof. The memory system includes: a first memory device including a first normal block and a first auxiliary block; a second memory device including a second normal block and a second auxiliary block; and a controller operating the first and second memory devices in an interleaving manner. The controller checks the used capacity of a cache buffer each time multiple sequentially input pieces of data are buffered in the cache buffer, programs the immediately preceding buffered data onto the first or second auxiliary block when the used capacity based on a check result is less than a set capacity without deleting the data in the cache buffer, and programs the data amounting to the set capacity in the cache buffer to the first or second normal block and deletes the data in the cache buffer when the used capacity based on a check result is equal to or greater than the set capacity. 본 기술은 원-샷 프로그램을 지원하는 메모리 시스템 및 메모리 시스템의 동작방법에 관한 것으로서, 제1 노말블록 및 제1 보조블록을 포함하는 제1 메모리 장치; 제2 노말블록 및 제2 보조블록을 포함하는 제2 메모리 장치; 및 제1 및 제2 메모리 장치를 인터리빙(interleaving) 방식으로 동작시키는 컨트롤러를 포함하며, 컨트롤러는, 순차적으로 입력되는 다수의 데이터를 각각 캐시버퍼에 버퍼링할 때마다 캐시버퍼의 사용크기를 확인하며, 확인결과 설정된 크기보다 작은 경우 직전의 버퍼링 데이터를 제1 또는 제2 보조블록에 프로그램한 뒤 캐시버퍼에서 삭제하지 않고, 확인결과 설정된 크기보다 크거나 같을 경우 캐시버퍼에서 설정된 크기만큼의 데이터를 제1 또는 제2 노말블록에 프로그램시킨 뒤 캐시버퍼에서 삭제하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
