A dome (102) for a surveillance camera system includes a plurality of surveillance cameras. The dome is made of a transparent material and has a toroidal shape with rotational symmetry along a rotation angle () based on a first symmetrical axis (S1). The outer segment of the dome has, in cross section, a shape which is further defined by a second symmetrical axis (S2) which is arranged at a first radius from the first symmetrical axis (S1) and is vertical to the first axis. The outer segment has a curvature following a second radius (r) over a preset angle () based on the second symmetrical axis (S2).
