The present disclosure relates to techniques for a sensor network, machine to machine (M2M), machine type communication (MTC), and Internet of things (IoT). The present disclosure can be utilized for intellectual services (smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail trade, service related to security and safety, and the like) based on the techniques. The present disclosure provides a method for distinguishing multiple PTT channels by using a notification sound with respect to the PTT channels to transmit voice when a user simultaneously selects the PTT channels even with a device not supporting display, and allowing the received voice to determine which PPT channel is used, and a PTT terminal for supporting the method. 본 개시는 센서 네트워크(Sensor Network), 사물 통신(machine to machine, M2M), MTC(machine type communication) 및 사물 인터넷(internet of things, IoT)을 위한 기술과 관련된 것이다. 본 개시는 상기 기술을 기반으로 하는 지능형 서비스(스마트 홈, 스마트 빌딩, 스마트 시티, 스마트 카 혹은 커넥티드 카, 헬스 케어, 디지털 교육, 소매업, 보안 및 안전 관련 서비스 등)에 활용될 수 있다. 본 개시는 디스플레이를 지원하지 않는 장치에서도, 사용자가 여러 개의 PTT 채널을 동시에 선택하는 경우, 상기 PTT 채널에 대한 알림음을 이용하여 상기 여러 개의 PTT 채널을 구분해 음성을 송신할 수 있으며, 수신된 음성이 어느 PTT 채널인지를 구별할 수 있는 방법 및 이를 지원하는 PTT 단말을 제안한다.
