Summary:The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of zero-valent iron for a heat source in a thermal battery used as a reserve battery for military or industrial purposes and, more specifically, relates to a manufacturing method of zero-valent iron for a heat source in a thermal battery with a spray voluntary ignition method which continuously sprays a precursor solution containing iron at high temperatures which manufactures a minute spherical iron oxide particle by voluntary ignition which increases the crystalline property of the particle in a coral shape through thermal treatment and reduction processes, and which has excellent ignition characteristics. The manufacturing method of zero-valent iron for the heat source in the thermal battery with the spray voluntary ignition method of the present invention comprises: a step of mixing iron compounds with fuel to obtain a precursor solution; a step of oxidizing to continuously spray the precursor solution to a reactor, into which air at temperatures of 200-400C is supplied to voluntarily ignite the precursor solution, and to form iron oxide powder; a step of sintering to sinter the iron oxide powder at 400-1200C and to condense the particles in the coral shape; and a step of reducing to allow the iron oxide powder come in contact with reduction gas after the step of sintering, and to perform reduction. 본 발명은 군사용 또는 산업용 비축전지로 이용되는 열전지의 열원용 영가철의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 철이 함유된 전구용액을 고온에서 연속적으로 분사하여 자발착화에 의해 미세한 구형의 산화철 입자를 제조한 후 열처리와 환원과정을 통하여 산호 모양으로 입자의 결정성을 높임으로써 발화특성이 우수한 스프레이 자발착화 방식의 열전지 열원용 영가철의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 스프레이 자발착화 방식의 열전지 열원용 영가철의 제조방법은 철화합물을 연료와 혼합하여 전구용액을 수득하는 혼합단계와, 전구용액을 200 내지 400℃의 고온의 열풍이 공급되는 반응기로 연속적으로 분사하여 상기 전구용액을 자발착화시켜 산화철 분말을 형성하는 산화단계와, 산화철 분말을 400 내지 1200℃에서 소성처리하여 입자들을 산호 모양으로 응집시키는 소성단계와, 소성단계 후 상기 산화철 분말을 환원가스와 접촉시켜 환원시키는 환원단계를 포함한다.
