The PIM management apparatus comprises: a PIM directory including a read-write lock on a memory address to which a command accesses; and a locality tracing part identifying locality for the memory address to which the command accesses and determining whether a subject executing the command is a PIM based on the identified locality. 프로세싱-인-메모리를 이용한 명령어 처리 방법 및 그 장치가 개시된다. PIM 관리장치는 명령어가 액세스하는 메모리 주소에 대한 읽기-쓰기 락(lock)을 포함하는 PIM 디렉토리 및 명령어가 액세스하는 메모리 주소에 대한 지역성을 파악하고, 상기 지역성을 기초로 명령어의 수행 주체가 프로세싱-인-메모리(PIM)인지 결정하는 지역성 추적부를 포함한다.
