The present invention relates to a route guide apparatus, and method using vehicle data. A time taken to pass a traffic light on a link is calculated based on vehicle data collected from a plurality of vehicles driven on the road, and the time taken to pass a traffic light on the link is considered as well as the time taken to drive on a link between nodes at the time of guiding a route; thereby guiding an optimal route (shortest time route) to a user. According to the present invention, the route guide apparatus using vehicle data comprises: a map data storage unit which stores electronic map data for route guide; a vehicle data collection unit which collects vehicle data vehicles driven on the road; a control unit which calculates a time taken to pass each signal light on the road (hereinafter, referred to as a signal light pass time) based on the vehicle data collected by the vehicle data collection unit, and searches a route in consideration thereof; and a route guide unit which guides the route. 본 발명은 차량데이터를 이용한 경로 안내 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 도로를 주행중인 복수의 차량으로부터 수집한 차량데이터를 기반으로 링크 상의 신호등을 통과하는데 소요되는 시간을 산출하고, 경로 안내시 노드 간 링크를 주행하는데 소요되는 시간은 물론 상기 링크 상의 신호등을 통과하는데 소요되는 시간까지 고려함으로써, 사용자에게 최적의 경로(최단시간 경로)를 안내할 수 있는 차량데이터를 이용한 경로 안내 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 본 발명은 차량데이터를 이용한 경로 안내 장치에 있어서, 경로 안내를 위한 전자지도데이터를 저장하는 지도데이터 저장부; 도로를 주행중인 차량으로부터 차량데이터를 수집하는 차량데이터 수집부; 상기 차량데이터 수집부에 의해 수집된 차량데이터를 기반으로, 도로상의 각 신호등을 통과하는데 걸리는 시간(이하, 신호등 통과시간)을 산출하고, 이를 고려하여 경로를 탐색하는 제어부; 및 상기 경로를 안내하는 경로 안내부를 포함한다.
