Summary:A three-dimensional sound reproduction device of a head mounted display device for a frontal sound image localization according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a pair of audio output units disposed on both sides of a head mounted display device; and a virtual sound processing unit configured to correct the sound transmission characteristics of a sound input signal from the pair of audio output units to the left and right eardrum of a wearer and to control a sense of distance for the sound input signal such that the virtual sound is positioned at the same position as a virtual image output from the head mounted display device. The present invention can maximize the immersion of the head mounted display wearer. 본 기술의 일 실시예에 의한 전방 음상 외재화를 위한 머리착용 영상표시장치용 입체음향 재생장치는 머리착용 영상표시장치의 양 측면에 각각 배치되는 한 쌍의 오디오 출력부 및 음향 입력신호에 대해 한 쌍의 오디오 출력부 각각으로부터 착용자의 좌/우측 고막까지의 음향 전달특성을 보정하는 한편, 머리착용 영상표시장치로부터 출력되는 가상 영상과 동일한 위치에 가상 음상이 위치하도록 음향 입력신호의 거리감을 제어하는 가상음상 처리부를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다.
