An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention includes: a communication module for supporting near-field communications with an external device using a first band and a second band; a processor electrically connected to the communication module; and a memory electrically coupled to the processor. At runtime, the memory stores an instruction of instructing the processor to check the characteristics of the function and peripheral network environment information in response to a request for executing a function, and to execute the function based on at least one of the first and second bands of the external device.
