Summary:The present invention relates to a mobile terminal capable of providing an optimized user interface by using an image received through a camera, and a control method thereof. The mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a camera; a touch screen outputting an image received through the camera; and a control part which outputs graphic objects indicating that selecting images is possible on the image when the image includes the images corresponding to texts having different characteristics, and performs a predetermined function based on a characteristic of a selected image when the image is selected among the images. 본 발명은 영상 촬영 기능을 구비하는 이동 단말기 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 이동 단말기는, 카메라, 상기 카메라를 통해 수신되는 영상을 출력하는 터치 스크린 및 상기 영상에 서로 다른 특성을 갖는 텍스트에 해당하는 이미지들이 포함된 경우, 상기 이미지들을 선택하는 것이 가능함을 알리는 그래픽 객체들을 상기 영상에 출력하고, 상기 이미지들 중 어느 하나가 선택되면, 상기 선택된 이미지의 특성에 근거하여, 기 설정된 기능을 수행하는 제어부를 포함한다.
