유니플로 소기식 2사이클 엔진은, 소기 포트(126)가 실린더(110)의 외부에서 내부로 향하여 실린더의 지름 방향에 대해 경사진 방향으로 소기 가스를 안내하는 스월 가이드부(126a)와, 스월 가이드부보다 실린더의 크랭크 측에 설치되고, 스월 가이드부보다 소기 가스를 실린더의 중심측으로 향하여 안내하는 중심 가이드부(126b)를 구비한다. 고압축비 모드시에 피스톤이 하사점에 있는 경우에는 중심 가이드부의 적어도 일부가 피스톤(112)에 대향함과 아울러, 저압축비 모드시에 피스톤이 하사점에 있는 경우에는 중심 가이드부와 피스톤이 비대향이 되거나 혹은 고압축비 모드시보다 피스톤과 대향하는 면적이 작아진다. A uniflow scavenging two-cycle engine includes an scavenging port (126) that has a swirling guide portion (126a) that guides scavenging gas from an outside to an inside of a cylinder (110) in a direction inclined with respect to a radial direction of the cylinder, and a center guide portion (126b) that is provided to be closer to a crank side of the cylinder than the swirling guide portion and guides the scavenging gas further toward the center side of the cylinder than the swirling guide portion. At least a part of the center guide portion faces a piston (112) in a case where the piston is positioned at bottom dead center during the high compression ratio mode, and the center guide portion and the piston do not face each other or an area of facing the piston is smaller than that during the high compression ratio mode in a case where the piston is positioned at bottom dead center during the low compression ratio mode.
