The present invention relates to a mobile terminal having a plurality of cameras, and to a control method thereof. The mobile terminal of the present invention comprises: a main body formed with a front surface and a rear surface; a plurality of cameras disposed on the rear surface; a display unit for displaying a preview image of an image input through a first camera among the cameras; and a control unit for selecting an image object corresponding to a specific subject in response to touch applied to the image object corresponding to the specific subject included in the preview image, photographing the image input through the first camera as a pause image in response to a photographing request received for photographing an image in a state that the image object corresponding to the specific subject is selected, and controlling a second camera to photograph the image including the selected specific subject as a video through the second camera that is different from the first camera among the cameras.
