The present invention relates to a method for evaluating water resistance of a cable. The method for evaluating water resistance of the cable includes: partially immersing a cable specimen having a conductor, an insulating layer surrounding the conductor, and a sheath layer surrounding the insulating layer; and measuring an insulation resistance or tangent delta after applying a voltage to the conductor in a state where a ground electrode is connected to the water in a water tank.
