According to one embodiment of the present invention, the present invention relates to a display device and a manufacturing method thereof. The display device comprises: a display region formed on one region of a substrate, and including a plurality of pixels to display an image; and a pad region formed on the other region of the substrate, and having a lower electrode that is electrically connected to the pixels to deliver an electrical signal to the pixels and a plurality of pad electrodes that electrically connect the lower electrode with a driving chip mounted from the outside. A surface of the pad electrode includes: a first contact surface that is in contact with the lower electrode; a second contact surface that is in contact with the driving chip; and a pad electrode layer that has an oxide film formed on a surface exposed to the outside, and connects the first contact surface with the second contact surface in a vertical direction.
