The present invention relates to a closing unit of a shaping machine, which comprises:a movable clamping plate (2); a push rod (3) which has an external profile and which is connected to the movable clamping plate (2); a locking unit (6) which has an internal profile (5); and a closing force mechanism which applies closing force to the movable mold clamping plate. The push rod (3) can be locked on the closing position of the locking nut (6) by cooperation of the internal profile (5), the external profile (7), and the closing force mechanism. In the displacement in between the opening position and the closing position of the locking nut (6) placed are one or more sawtooth-type racks (11) which are connected to a rotary drive (9), which is for rotation of a shaft (10), and the locking nut (6) and which cooperate with the shaft (10) by a sawteeth arrangement (8).
