According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for inducing use of a service which provides an online service through a network comprises: a communications unit which receives stored phone numbers from a first terminal and a second terminal; and a control unit which checks whether a phone number of a third user is one of the phone numbers received from the second terminal when the communications unit receives, from the first terminal, input of selection of the third user, who has one of the phone numbers received from the first terminal and the third user did not subscribe to the online service or has not access to the online service for a predetermined period of time or longer. The communications unit notifies, to the second terminal, occurrence of input with respect to selection of the third user if the phone numbers received from the second terminal includes the phone number of the third user. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 네트워크를 통해 온라인 서비스를 제공하는 서비스 이용 유도 장치는 제1 단말기 및 제2 단말기로부터 각각 저장된 전화번호를 수신하는 통신부 및 통신부가 제1 단말기로부터 제1 단말기로부터 수신한 전화번호 중 어느 한 전화번호의 소유자인 제3 사용자의 선택에 대한 입력을 수신하면, 제 3 사용자가 온라인 서비스에 가입하지 않았거나, 기 설정된 기간 이상 온라인 서비스에 접속하지 않은 것으로 판단되는 경우, 제2 단말기로부터 수신된 전화번호에 제3 사용자의 전화번호의 포함 여부를 확인하는 제어부를 포함하고, 통신부는 제2 단말기로부터 수신된 전화번호에 제3 사용자의 전화번호가 포함된 경우, 제2 단말기에 제3 사용자의 선택에 대한 입력의 발생을 알린다.
