According to the present invention, provided is a fermented garlic extract having a reduced smell particular to garlic. The fermented garlic extract is fermented by particular microorganisms, and thus comprises a large quantity of active components of garlic for protecting skin. A cosmetic composition comprising the fermented garlic extract has excellent effects of skin whitening, improving skin elasticity, alleviating skin wrinkles, alleviating skin irritation, and soothing the skin. 본 발명은 마늘 발효 추출물의 제조 및 이를 함유하는 화장료 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따르면 특정 미생물에 의하여 발효되어 마늘의 피부보호 활성 성분을 다량으로 포함하며, 마늘 특이취가 감소된 마늘 발효추출물이 제공되며, 이를 함유하는 화장료는 피부미백, 피부탄력개선, 피부주름개선, 피부자극완화 및 피부진정효과가 우수하다.
