본 발명은 전자사진 또는 정전 기록용 액체 현상제에 있어서 입자의 균일성, 보존 안정성, 정착성 및 전기영동성이 양호한 액체 현상제를 제공하는 것을 과제로 한다. 상기 과제의 해결수단으로서 코아세르베이션법을 이용하여 적어도 안료로서 산성 카본블랙, 산기 함유 수지를 포함하는 바인더 수지, 염기성기 함유 안료 분산제, 산성 안료 유도체인 안료 분산 보조제를 그 안료 100 질량부에 대해 0.1~10.0 질량부 및 조립 보조제로부터 조립하여 얻은 착색 수지 입자를 함유하고, 그 착색 수지 입자는 입자 분산제에 의해 절연성 용매에 분산되어 이루어지는 액체 현상제를 제공한다. An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid developer for electrophotography or electrostatic recording, demonstrating good particle uniformity, preservation stability, fixing property, and electrophoretic migration property. To achieve the aforementioned object, the present invention provides a liquid developer that contains colored resin particles granulated by utilizing the coacervation method, from at least an acid carbon black as pigment, binder resin containing acid group-containing resin, basic group-containing pigment dispersion agent, pigment dispersion aid which is an acid pigment derivative and accounts for 0.1 to 10.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the pigment, and granulating aid, wherein the colored resin particles are dispersed in an insulating solvent by means of a particle dispersion agent.
