The present invention relates to a technology for a sensor network, a machine to machine (M2M), a machine type communication (MTC) and an internet of things (IoT). The present invention can be used to intelligent services ( smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services) based on the technologies. Disclosed are, in embodiments written in the specification, a method for establishing a follow-up connection between a first device and a second device, and a system. The method comprises the steps of: a first device transmitting a connection request containing bootstrap information in order to establish an initial connection with a second device; the first device receiving a connection success response containing the bootstrap information from the second device; storing the bootstrap information received from the connection success response; terminating the initial connection with the second device; and the first device establishing a follow-up connection with the second device. 본 개시는 센서 네트워크, 사물 통신(M2M), MTC및 사물 인터넷(IoT)을 위한 기술과 관련된 것이다. 본 개시는 상기 기술을 기반으로 하는 지능형 서비스(스마트 홈, 스마트 빌딩, 스마트 시티, 스마트 카 혹은 커넥티드 카, 헬스 케어, 디지털 교육, 소매업, 보안 및 안전 관련 서비스 등)에 활용될 수 있다. 본 명세서에 기재된 실시예들은 제1 장치와 제2 장치 간의 후속 연결을 수립하는 방법 및 시스템을 개시한다. 상기 방법은 제2 장치와의 초기 연결을 수립하기 위해 부트스트랩 정보를 포함하는 연결 요청을 제1 장치에 의해 전송하는 단계와, 제2 장치로부터 부트스트랩 정보를 포함하는 성공한 연결 응답을 제1 장치에 의해 수신하는 단계와, 성공한 연결 응답에서 수신된 부트스트랩 정보를 저장하는 단계와, 상기 방법은 제2 장치와의 초기 연결을 종료하는 단계와, 상기 방법은 제2 장치와의 후속 연결을 제1 장치에 의해 수립하는 단계를 포함한다.
