Disclosed is a CT system having a modular X-ray detector and a data transmission system for transmitting detector data. The CT system comprises: a fixed portion having a plurality of non-rotating components (6); and a portion (2, 3, 6.1) rotating about a system axis (9) during operation and having at least one X-ray detector (3). The X-ray detector (3) is modular in design and has a plurality of detector modules (3.1). Each detector module (3.1) includes a plurality of detector pixels. In addition, the CT system comprises a wireless data transmission system for transmitting at least detector information related to measured x-ray radiation from the rotating portion (2, 3, 6.1) to the fixed portion (6). At least one wireless unit (3.3) having a transmitter/receiver (3.4) and at least one wireless antenna (3.5.1, 3.5.2) for transmitting detector data is integrated in the detector modules (3.1). At least one wireless unit having a wireless antenna (6.2) and a receiver/transmitter are arranged on the fixed portion (6).
