A reinforcing bar binding machine comprises: a cutting die (114) having a wire through hole (117) which penetrates through the die along a direction in which a wire (105) is fed out; a blade portion (115a) adapted to move along an open plane (118) of an opening (117a) at one end of the wire through hole (117) to cut a terminating end portion (105b) of the wire (105); and an engagement portion (130) adapted to be brought into engagement with a portion of the wire (105) which lies in the vicinity of the terminating end portion (105b) thereof when the blade portion (115a) is rotated so as to bend and hold the portion lying in the vicinity of the terminating end portion. 철근 결속기는, 와이어(105)의 이송 방향을 따라 관통되는 와이어 관통구멍(117)을 구비하는 커팅다이(114)와, 상기 와이어 관통구멍(117) 일단의 개구(117a)의 개구면(118)을 따라 이동하여 와이어(105)의 종단부(105b)를 절단하는 칼날부(115a)와, 상기 칼날부(115a)가 회동하였을 때에 상기 절단한 와이어의 종단부(105b) 부근에 계합하여 상기 종단부 부근을 절곡시켜 잡아주는 계합부(130)를 구비한다.
