The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device and a polarizing plate kit, restricting non-uniformity in displaying or bending or yellowing of a polarizing plate even when applied to a liquid crystal panel and also preventing a film from being scorched when the film is unveiled. The liquid crystal display device includes polarizing plates opposite to each other. Each of the polarizing plates includes a transparent protective film formed by interposing an adhesive layer into both surfaces of a polyvinyl alcohol polarizer. A first transparent protective film of one side surface of the liquid crystal display is made of (mat) acrylate resin having an unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester unit and a glutarimide unit indicated by general formula (1), contains (mat) acrylate resin having an imidization rate of 2.5-5.0 %, an acid value in a range of 0.10-0.50 mmol/g and an acrylic ester unit, which is less than 1 wt% and also has an ultraviolet ray absorbent.
