The present invention relates to an ecological information providing method and a system therefor. The method comprises the steps of: receiving ecological information including photographed images of living creatures, from a first mobile terminal; verifying categorization information on the photographed living creatures; registering the ecological information including the verified categorized information in a pictorial book of the living creatures; and providing the ecological information, registered in the database of the pictorial book of the living creatures, in response to a second mobile terminal. By the steps of the present invention, by verifying uploaded categorization information of living creatures incorrectly categorized by non-professionals, biological information, with correct categorization information, can be provided. 본 발명은 생태 정보 제공 방법 및 시스템에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 방법은 생물체를 촬영한 이미지를 포함한 생태 정보를 제1 휴대 단말로부터 제공받는 단계, 상기 촬영된 생물체에 대한 분류 정보를 검증하는 단계, 상기 검증된 분류 정보를 상기 생태 정보에 포함하여 생태 도감 데이터베이스에 등록하는 단계, 그리고 제2 휴대 단말의 요청에 따라 상기 생태 도감 데이터베이스에 등록된 생태 정보를 제공하는 단계를 포함한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 비 전문가에 의해 잘못 분류되어 업로드된 생물체의 분류 정보를 검증하여 올바른 분류 정보와 함께 생태 정보를 제공할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
