Summary: | The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an iridium complex with the high selectivity and the high yield, and to an organic electroluminescent device using an iridium complex manufactured by the method. The iridium complex with a heteroleptic fac-Ir(C^N)_2(C^N)′ structure is manufactured by making an iridium intermediate react with a ligand compound in the presence of a mixed solvent including a halogen-containing solvent and an alcohol-based solvent.
