An operation method of a semiconductor device of the present invention comprises the steps of: determining whether a read operation of a selected page is the first read operation of the selected page or not; if the read operation is the first read operation of the selected page after the determination, performing an LSB read operation of the selected page and performing a first sub read operation of the selected page according to the LSB read operation result; and if the read operation is not the first read operation of the selected page after the determination, performing a second sub read operation including an LSB read operation or an MSB read operation of the selected page according to the stored program state data.
