The present invention relates to a mobile terminal for providing a user with a normal telephone call environment, even if the mobile terminal is held upside down. The mobile terminal comprises: a first sound receiving/transmitting unit including a first upper electrode, a first lower electrode, and a first vibration panel placed between the first upper and lower electrodes; a second sound receiving/transmitting unit including a second upper electrode, a second lower electrode, and a second vibration panel placed between the second upper and lower electrodes; a location sensor sensing a relative location between the first and second sound receiving/transmitting units; and a control unit providing a sound signal to any one of the first and second sound receiving/transmitting units based on a sensing result of the location sensor and detecting a sound signal from the other one of the first and second sound receiving/transmitting units. 본 발명은 사용자가 휴대 단말기를 반대로 잘못 들었을 경우에도 사용자에게 정상적인 통화 환경을 제공할 수 있는 휴대 단말기에 관한 것으로, 제 1 하부 전극, 제 1 상부 전극 및 상기 제 1 하부 전극과 제 1 상부 전극 사이에 위치한 제 1 진동판을 포함하는 제 1 음향 송/수신부; 제 2 하부 전극, 제 2 상부 전극 및 제 2 하부 전극과 제 2 상부 전극 사이에 위치한 제 2 진동판을 포함하는 제 2 음향 송/수신부; 제 1 음향 송/수신부 및 제 2 음향 송/수신부 간의 상대적인 위치를 감지하는 위치 센서; 및 위치 센서로부터의 감지 결과를 근거로, 제 1 음향 송/수신부 및 제 2 음향 송/수신부 중 어느 하나로 음향 신호를 공급하고, 다른 하나로부터 음향 신호를 검출하는 제어부를 포함한다.
