The present invention provides a method for forming a pattern having good light exposure latitude, developing properties, and pattern profile, an actinic ray-sensitive or radiation-sensitive resin composition used for the same, an electronic device using the same, and a method for producing the electronic device. The method for forming a pattern comprise the steps of: (A) forming a film by an actinic ray-sensitive or radiation-sensitive resin composition containing a resin in which solubility with respect to a developing solution including an organic solvent is decreased because polarity is increased by reaction of a compound represented by formula (A-1) and acid having a recurring unit represented by formula (n I); (B) irradiating actinic light or radiation onto the film; and (C) developing the film onto which actinic light or radiation is irradiated by using a developing solution including an organic solvent.
