The present invention relates to an air conditioner comprising: a suction body having an air suction port; a heat-exchanger in which the air suctioned into the air suction port is heat-exchanged; and a pair of air blast discharging units discharging the air heat-exchanged in the heat-exchanger. The air blast discharging unit includes a discharging body having an air inlet and an air outlet which are separately formed and having a discharging path formed between the air inlet and the air outlet; a rotation unit rotating the discharging body around a vertical center shaft; a tangential fan positioned in the discharging path to be able to rotate and disposed and extended in the discharging path in a vertical direction; and a fan motor having a vertical rotation shaft rotating the tangential fan. The air conditioner can be more compact than in a case in which the tangential fan is installed between the discharging body and the heat exchanger for effective use of the internal space. 본 발명은 공기흡입구가 형성된 흡입바디와; 공기흡입구로 흡입된 공기가 열교환되는 열교환기와; 열교환기와 열교환된 공기가 통과하여 토출되는 한 쌍의 송풍 토출유닛를 포함하고, 송풍 토출유닛은 공기유입구와 공기토출구가 이격되게 형성되고 상기 공기유입구와 공기토출구 사이에 토출통로가 형성된 토출 바디와; 토출 바디를 수직 중심축을 중심으로 회전시키는 회전기구와; 토출통로에 회전 가능하게 위치되고 상기 토출통로에 상하 방향으로 길게 배치된 횡류팬과; 횡류팬을 회전시키는 수직 회전축을 갖는 팬모터를 포함하여, 횡류팬이 토출바디와 열교환기 사이에 설치되는 경우 보다 컴팩트화할 수 있고 내부의 공간활용도가 높은 이점이 있다.
