Summary:Provided are a vehicle charger and a method for controlling power of the vehicle charger. The vehicle charger according to the present invention receives power from electric vehicle supply equipment to charge a battery mounted on an electric vehicle. The vehicle charger includes: a charging controller for controlling a charging mode of the vehicle charger; a main power supplier for supplying main power to the charging controller; an auxiliary power supplier for supplying battery power as auxiliary power when receiving a control pilot signal generated from the electric vehicle supply equipment; and a power controller for detecting the control pilot signal and controlling the on-off state of the main power supply and the auxiliary power supply, based on state information regarding the detected control pilot signal and a charging mode control signal outputted from the charging controller. 본 발명은 차량용 충전기 및 그의 전원 제어 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 차량용 충전기는 전원공급장치로부터 전원을 공급받아 전기자동차에 탑재된 배터리를 충전시키는 차량용 충전기에 있어서, 상기 차량용 충전기의 충전모드를 제어하는 충전제어기와, 상기 충전제어기로 주전원을 공급하는 주전원부와, 상기 전원공급장치에서 발생되는 제어파일럿 신호가 입력되면 배터리 전원을 보조전원으로 공급하는 보조전원부와, 상기 제어파일럿 신호를 검출하고 그 검출한 제어파일럿 신호의 상태정보 및 상기 충전제어기로부터 출력되는 충전모드 제어신호에 근거하여 상기 주전원 및 상기 보조전원의 온오프를 제어하는 전원제어기를 포함한다.
