The present invention relates to a novel method for preparing pipyridine-2,5-dione and use of pipyridine-2,5-dione for alleviating or treating skin diseases in the form of a pharmaceutical composition or a cosmetic composition. According to the present invention, pipyridione-2,5-dione has higher stability than any other ALA derivatives and causes no change in functions of ALA, and thus can be useful for treating skin diseases or the like. In addition, the composition according to the present invention shows a better therapeutic effect, when it is applied locally to a skin disease site. Thus, the composition can be useful for developing an agent for treating hardly curable diseases, such as psoriasis. 본 발명은 피피리딘-2,5-디온(pipyridine-2,5-dione)의 신규한 제조방법 및 피피리딘-2,5-디온의 피부질환 개선 또는 치료에 대한 용도에 관한 것으로 약학적 조성물 또는 화장료 조성물로 사용될 수 있다. 본 발명에 따른 피피리딘-2,5-디온은 어떤 ALA 유도체보다 안정성이 뛰어나고, ALA의 기능에는 변함이 없어 피부 질환 등의 치료에 매우 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다. 그리고 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 피부질환 부위에 국소적으로 도포됨에 따라 더욱 우수한 치료효과를 가지는바, 피부질환 특히 건선 치료 등 치유가 쉽지 않은 질환 치료제 개발에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.
