The present invention relates to an antioxidative composition comprising an extract of black tea stem as an active ingredient, which is obtained by being extracted from the black tea stem, a byproduct of black tea. According to the present invention, the extract of the black tea stem can be usefully used for: the prevention or the treatment of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, Parkinson′s disease, and the like which can be caused by oxygen free radical; a health functional food or an additive for preventing oxidation of a food; and a cosmetic product for preventing skin aging or preventing skin damage by ultraviolet rays. 본 발명은 홍차부산물인 홍차줄기로부터 추출하여 얻어진 홍차줄기 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 항산화성 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 홍차줄기 추출물은 산소 자유라디칼에 의하여 원인이 될 수 있는 암, 심혈관계 질환, 관절염, 파킨슨씨병 등의 질병 예방 또는 치료, 건강기능식품 또는 식품의 산화방지를 위한 첨가제, 피부노화 방지용 또는 자외선에 의한 피부손상 방지용 화장품 등으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
