Provided in one embodiment is a system which enables explicit strategy feedback in a content-centric network (CCN). During operation, the system sends a first interest associated with an explicit strategy feedback request via an egress interface. The egress interface is in a plurality of egress interfaces associated with the same name in a forwarding table. An interest is location-independent and uniquely identifies a content object in the CCN and is routed based on the name in the CCN. The system stores one or more parameters received in response to the explicit strategy feedback request in an entry. The entry includes the name and the egress interface, in the forwarding table. The one or more parameters are associated with a first device.
