The present invention relates to a washing machine, capable of extracting microbubbles by decompressing and extracting gas dissolved in water, and effectively performing a cleaning effect by the microbubbles. A microbubble generating unit, installed in a water supply pipe supplying water into a tub, includes: a throttle part installed in a path connecting an inlet and an outlet, and making the area of the path smaller than the inlet; and a collision part to reduce the area of the path of the throttle part by dividing the path in the throttle part into multiple segment areas. After gas solution liquid, supplied from the inlet to the path, collides with the collision part, the liquid passes through the segment areas by being distributed to the segment areas after an increase in speed. Its decompressing effect extracts the dissolved gas to make microbubble-contained liquid, containing microbubbles. The microbubble-contained liquid is discharged from the outlet. The water, passing through the microbubble generating unit, is supplied into the tub through the water supply pipe. 물에 용존되어 있는 기체를 감압 석출시켜 미세한 기포를 다량 석출시키며, 미세기포에 의한 세정효과를 유효하게 발휘할 수 있는 세탁기를 제공한다. 조내로 급수하는 급수로에 설치되는 미세기포 발생수단은 유입구와 유출구를 연결하는 유로중에 설치되고 유입구보다 유로면적을 작게 하는 스로틀부와, 이 스로틀부에서 유로를 복수의 세그먼트 영역으로 구획하는 형태로 배치되어 스로틀부의 유로면적을 더욱 감소시키는 충돌부를 구비하며, 유입구로부터 유로에 공급된 기체용해액체를 충돌부에 충돌시킨 후, 복수의 세그먼트 영역으로 분배하면서 증속하여 통과시키고, 그 감압효과에 의해, 용해된 기체를 석출시켜 미세한 기포를 함유하는 미세기포 함유액체로 하고, 이 미세기포 함유액체를 상기 유출구로부터 유출시키는 구성이다. 이 미세기포 발생수단을 통과한 물을 급수로를 통하여 조내로 공급한다.
