Summary:The present invention relates to a process and an apparatus for decomposing polyester waste and, more specifically, to a process and an apparatus for recycling polyester waste, which make polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) into raw materials of polyester, dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (EG). A continuous melting device is: divided into a plurality of separate melting rooms to be continuously operated; equipped with a transfer device comprising an electrical or a manual screw and a check valve to transfer to the gradationally separate melting rooms; and provided with a high pressure pump which enables an EG collecting condenser capable of collecting EG easy to evaporate in a melting process and a final reactant in the melting device to be put into a first reactor. Due to the continuous melting device, which saves entire process time, reaction time, and energy lost by stopping the first reactor to put a product from the melting device into the first reactor compared with a batch melting device, the entire process speed is increased and the process time is reduced so that energy loss is minimized and the process is economically operated.
