Summary:According to various embodiments, provided are an electronic device and a display method. The electronic device comprises a display panel, a distance sensing sensor, and a control unit. The display panel includes a plurality of subpixels. The distance sensing sensor senses a viewing distance between the display panel and a user. The control unit enables the display panel to display as a basic resolution by activating all the subpixels when the viewing distance is smaller than a first critical distance, by comparing the viewing distance with the predetermined first critical distance, and controls the display panel enabling the display panel to display as a first resolution lower than the basic resolution, by deactivating a portion of subpixels from the subpixels when the viewing distance is bigger than the first critical distance.
