Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for changing a sampling rate by using a first-in first-out (FIFO) module, which comprises: N number of image rejection (IR) filters sequentially receiving and then sequentially outputting digital signals sampled at a preset sampling rate; a FIFO module receiving the digital signals outputted from N number of IR filters and then firstly outputting the first inputted digital signal sequentially; M number of anti-aliasing (AA) filters sequentially receiving and outputting the digital signals outputted from the FIFO module; and an adder adding up and outputting the digital signals outputted from the AA filters, wherein the digital signals outputted to the adder are composed of the digital signals having a changed sampling rate with an N/M ratio of the predetermined sampling rate. According to the apparatus and the method for changing a sampling rate by using a FIFO module, N number of IR filters and M number of AA filters are arranged and a FIFO module is inserted into the middle to change a sampling rate at N/M ratio, thereby enabling very easy and simple change in a sampling rate. In addition, without an increase in a sampling rate, the sampling rate can be immediately changed. FIFO 모듈을 이용한 샘플링 레이트 변경 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 소정의 샘플링 레이트(sampling rate)로 샘플링된 디지털 신호를 각각 순차적으로 입력받아 순차적으로 출력하는 N개의 IR 필터(image rejection filter); 상기 N개의 IR 필터로부터 출력된 디지털 신호를 입력받아 먼저 입력된 디지털 신호부터 차례대로 출력하는 FIFO(first-in first-out) 모듈; 상기 FIFO 모듈에서 출력된 디지털 신호를 각각 순차적으로 입력받아 출력하는 M개의 AA 필터(anti-aliasing filter); 상기 AA 필터에서 출력되는 디지털 신호를 합산하여 출력하는 합산기를 포함하고, 상기 합산기에 출력되는 디지털 신호는, 상기 소정의 샘플링 레이트에 대해 N/M 비율을 갖는 샘플링 레이트로 변경된 디지털 신호로 구성된다. 상기와 같은 FIFO 모듈을 이용한 샘플링 레이트 변경 장치 및 방법에 의하면, N개의 IR 필터와 M개의 AA 필터를 구비하고, 그 중간에 FIFO 모듈을 삽입하여 샘플링 레이트가 N/M 비율로 변경되도록 함으로써, 매우 용이하고 간단하게 샘플링 레이트를 변경할 수 있는 효과가 있다. 또한, 샘플링 레이트의 증가없이도 바로 샘플링 레이트를 변경 가능하다.
