The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device and an assembling method thereof, capable of preventing a light leakage. The liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes a liquid crystal panel which displays an image, a backlight unit which is located on the lower side of the liquid crystal panel and supplies light to the liquid crystal panel, a guide panel which supports the liquid crystal panel, and a light shielding member which is formed between the liquid crystal panel and the backlight unit. The light shielding member includes a light shielding tape which is attached on the side of the guide panel and a buffering tape which is formed on the side of the light shielding tape and is inserted into a gap between the liquid crystal panel and the backlight unit. 본 발명은 빛샘을 방지할 수 있는 액정 표시 장치 및 그 조립 방법을 제공하는 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 액정 표시 장치는 화상을 표시하는 액정 패널과; 상기 액정 패널에 하부에 위치하며, 상기 액정 패널에 광을 공급하는 백라이트 유닛과; 상기 액정 패널을 지지하는 가이드 패널과; 상기 액정 패널 및 백라이트 유닛 사이에 형성되는 차광 부재를 구비하며, 상기 차광 부재는 상기 가이드 패널의 측면에 부착되는 차광 테이프와; 상기 차광 테이프의 측면 상에 형성되어 상기 액정 패널 및 백라이트 유닛 사이의 틈에 삽입되는 완충 테이프를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
