Summary:The present invention relates to a control circuit of passenger room lamps in a railway vehicle using a brightness sensor and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a circuit and a method capable of reducing unnecessary power waste by adjusting the brightness of the passenger room lamps according to a ground/underground running section in the running of various kinds of railway vehicles. The control circuit of the railway vehicle passenger room lamps according to an embodiment of the present invention is configured to include: a plurality of passenger room lamps comprising a plurality of LED lamps installed in passenger rooms in a railway vehicle; a brightness sensor installed in a front head of a vehicle to measure a brightness value out of the vehicle; a TIMS monitor enabling a locomotive engineer to set the brightness value of the passenger room lamp at the outside using a touch screen; and a dimming controller, in the case of an automatic mode, comparing the brightness value measured by the brightness sensor with a preset reference brightness value to determine the brightness value of the passenger room lamps, making communications with the passenger room lamps via RS-485 communications and controlling the brightness of the passenger room lamps with the determined brightness value of the passenger room lamps, and in the case of a manual mode, making communications with the passenger room lamps via RS-485 communications and controlling the brightness of the passenger room lamps with the brightness value of the passenger room lamps set via the TIMS monitor. 본 발명은 조도센서를 이용한 철도차량 객실등 제어회로 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 각종 철도차량의 운행에 있어서 지상/지하 운행 구간에 따라 객실등의 밝기 조절을 통해서 불필요한 전력 낭비를 감소시킬 수 있는 회로 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 철도차량 객실등 제어회로는 철도차량의 객실에 설치되는 다수의 LED 전등으로 이루어진 다수의 객실등과, 차량 전두부에 설치되어 차량 외부의 조도값을 측정하는 조도센서와, 터치스크린을 이용해 기관사가 외부에서 상기 객실등 밝기값을 설정할 수 있도록 하는 TIMS 모니터, 및 자동모드인 경우 상기 조도센서에 측정한 조도값을 기설정한 기준 조도값과 비교하여 객실등 밝기값을 결정해서 RS-485 통신을 통해 객실등과 통신하여 결정된 객실등 밝기값으로 객실등 밝기를 제어하고, 수동모드인 경우 RS-485 통신을 통해 객실등과 통신하여 상기 TIMS 모니터를 통해 설정한 객실등 밝기값으로 객실등 밝기를 제어하는 디밍 컨트롤러를 포함하여 구성된다.
