Provided is a lithium secondary battery which includes a negative electrode including a negative electrode active material, a positive electrode, a separator located between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and an electrolyte including an additive, wherein the negative electrode active material includes a Si-based material, and 1-70 wt% of the Si-based material is included with respect to the total weight of the negative electrode. The additive includes fluoroethylene carbonate and a compound represented by chemical formula 1, wherein, R^1 to R^3 are substituted or unsubstituted C2 to C5 alkyl groups respectively. 음극 활물질을 포함하는 음극, 양극, 상기 음극과 상기 양극 사이에 위치하는 세퍼레이터, 그리고 첨가제를 포함하는 전해액을 포함하고, 상기 음극 활물질은 Si계 물질을 포함하고, 상기 Si계 물질은 상기 음극의 총량에 대하여 1 내지 70 중량%로 포함되고, 상기 첨가제는 플루오로에틸렌 카보네이트 및 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물을 포함하는 리튬 이차 전지가 제공된다.
