Summary: | The present invention provides a controller for electric motor and a method thereof. Provided is the controller for electric vehicle having an electric motor. The controller includes a motor control processor (MCP) to control the torque output of the electric motor. Also, the controller includes a first main processor monitor (MPM) module and a second MPM module. The first and second MPM modules determine, individually, a state of health, and generate a first fault signal and a second fault signal, respectively, after determining that the MCP module does not fulfill a function. The controller receives at least one among the first fault signal from the first MPM module and the second fault signal from the second MPM module. When both the first fault signal and the second fault signal are received, the present invention includes a voting control module to generate an override command. The override command overrides the MCP module. |
