Summary:The present invention relates to a method to evaluate a buffer force of a buffer pad for a heating and pressing apparatus, capable of evaluating the buffer force of the buffer pad as a component of the heating and pressing apparatus with a pressing unit, a heating member, and the buffer pad when a secondary barrier of an LNG storage tank is formed; wherein the secondary barrier consists of a first triplex, an adhesive, and a second triplex. The method to evaluate the buffer force of the buffer pad for the heating and pressing apparatus comprises: a step of preparing a sample of the buffer pad; a step of forming a plurality of indentations in the sample using a press with a plate-shaped surface touching the sample, measuring the depth of each indentations; a step of calculating difference values by comparing the measurement values of the depths and a reference value; a step of identifying whether each of the difference values is in the allowable range of the reference value or not; and a step of applying the buffer pad for the heating and pressing apparatus by evaluating the sample as a sample with a fine quality when the difference values are in the allowable range of the reference value. According to the present invention, the method to evaluate the buffer force of the buffer pad for the heating and pressing apparatus is capable of measuring the indented depths by pressing the sample using the press-shaped into a plate with a wide contact surface, such that a contact surface between the press and the measured sample can be widened and the difference values due to the states of the pores in the buffer pad can be minimized; thus improving the reliability of the results in the evaluation of the buffer force of the buffer pad.
