Summary: | An ambient light sensor includes a photoelectric conversion part, a current control part, a signal conversion part and a comparator. The photoelectric conversion part generates a photo current having intensity corresponding to the luminance of an incident light and then provides the photo current for a first node. The current control part generates a control current exponentially proportional to the elapse time on the basis of a clock signal and then provides the control current for the first node, and outputs a digital code corresponding to the elapse time in response to a reset signal. The signal conversion part generates a comparison voltage logarithmically proportional to the intensity of the sum of the photo current and the control current. The comparator generates a reset signal by comparing the amplitude of the comparison voltage with the amplitude of a reference voltage. The ambient light sensor can generate a digital code logarithmically proportional to the luminance of the incident light. |
