Summary:The present invention relates to a self-diagnosis method for preventing malfunctioning attributable for machine tool deformation or component wear in a machine provided with a camera therein and a method for calibrating processing precision reduction attributable to deformation or loosening detected by the diagnosis. When a machine operation time or work processing number reaches a registered gap, a rotation table or a transport table and the camera in the machine are moved to a measurement position, an image is acquired, the position of a detection target site is detected from the image, and polarization from the original position is detected. This is repeated multiple times to obtain a plurality of polarizations and a calibration value in each control axis direction of a table or the transport table is calculated so as to update the calibration value set in a controller. Warning is issued and the machine is stopped when the difference between the plurality of detected or calculated polarizations or between the calibration values exceeds a threshold.
